Dubbo and district cemeteries

Council’s Community Services Division manages seven cemeteries in the Dubbo Local Government Area.

Council is responsible for the maintenance, interments, record keeping, family history enquiries, liaison with funeral directors, contract management, asset improvement and maintenance of health standards and other legislative requirements relating to these cemeteries.

Interment of ashes
Closed cemeteries (except where prior reservation has been made)
Old Dubbo Cemetery Located to the west of St Mary’s Primary School bounded by Cobbora Road, Barden Avenue and Myall Street. Entry is via Myall Street and Cobbora Road, with the gates opening from sunrise to sunset every day. Foot access from Barden St. Ashes may be interred with burial sites, however permission from the family is required.
Pioneer Cemetery Butlers Falls Road, Dubbo  
Available for burials
New Dubbo Cemetery Dunedoo Road, Dubbo. Includes interment of ashes. Ashes may also be interred with burial sites, however permission from the family is required.
Tubbagah Aboriginal Burial Ground Burials must be approved by the Tubbegah Aboriginal Burial Ground Management Committee prior to booking the funeral and burial site.

Wongarbon Cemetery Veech’s Road, Wongarbon  
Ballimore Cemetery Court Street, Ballimore  
Rawsonville Cemetery Rawsonville village, north-west of Dubbo
