Community Awards

Dubbo City Community Service Awards

The Dubbo City Community Service Awards, also known as the "Dubbo Day Awards", are presented on 23 November each year. This date marks the anniversary of Dubbo's gazettal as a village on the same day in 1849.

Nominations are invited each year during October.

Details:  A number of citizens will be presented with a Dubbo City Community Service Award and one person will be awarded the Tony McGrane Public Service Award.

Australia Day Celebrations and Awards

Celebrations are held in Victoria Park on 26 January each year to mark Australia Day in Dubbo. The day involves a variety of entertainment, a Citizenship ceremony and the announcement of the winners of the Australia Day Awards:

  • Citizen of the Year
  • Young Citizen of the Year
  • Sportsperson of the Year
  • Young Sportsperson of the Year
  • Services to Sports Award.

    Senior Citizen of the Year Award

    The Senior Citizen of the Year Award is presented annually by Dubbo City Council to promote and recognise outstanding examples of citizenship and achievement. A selection committee made up of past winners of the Award will assess all nominations in strict confidence. 

    Nomination for 2013 have closed.

    The Senior Citizens Award 2013 will be presented by Mayor of Dubbo Councillor Mathew Dickerson at the 2013 Senior's Week Expo, held on Thursday, 21 March at the Dubbo Showground.
