Sustainable Cities are vibrant urban regions which are economically productive, environmentally responsible and socially inclusive. Dubbo is all of these and strives to continually improve.
Council's role is to help raise awareness and educate the community as well as develop and implement plans that make Dubbo a great place to live.
Living sustainably means conserving our precious resources - as a city, and in our homes and businesses.
On our Sustainable City page, you can find out what Council is doing and what you can do to save energy, reduce greenhouse gas emissions, save water and reduce waste.
Simple ideas like turning off the tap when you brush your teeth, choosing products with minimal packaging, buying energy efficient light globes and cycling or taking public transport to work can all make a difference to ensure a sustainable future for ourselves, our city and the planet.
Dubbo City Council also hosts an annual Sustainable City Expo to provide information to the Dubbo community on how to live and work sustainably, to protect and enhance our local environment and reduce the cost of living and our environmental footprint.
