In September 2011, the DRTCC celebrated its 50,000th ticket sale just 18 months after opening. The first 49,000 tickets were purchased by patrons from as far away as Perth, Melbourne, Adelaide, Launceston and even one from Kent in the United Kingdom.
Total ticket sales since opening reached 71,179 by 30 June 2012, while overall visitor attendances reached 174,583.
