HAZARDOUS WASTE

DRUMMUSTER

drumMUSTER provides Australian agricultural and veterinary chemical users with a recycling pathway for drumMUSTER eligible empty containers. Rinse them out, round them up and run them in.

Properly cleaned farm chemical containers will be received Monday to Friday during normal opening hours at Whylandra Waste Depot and Wellington Transfer Station. Geurie Transfer Station accepts containers on Thursday from 1pm to 3pm.

You MUST contact the depot to book at least 24 hours prior to dropping off containers at a facility. A drum inspector will be required to check the eligibility of your containers on your arrival.

CHEMCLEAR

ChemClear is a non-government, not-for profit ongoing program for the collection and disposal of any registered or deregistered chemicals. Keeping old chemicals can pose a risk to you and the environment.

These six questions can help you assess what chemicals you should keep or get rid of through ChemClear. Has the chemical …

  1. Served its purpose?
  2. Been replaced by another product?
  3. Become surplus to needs?
  4. Reached its expiration date?
  5. Been deregistered by the Australian Pesticide and Veterinary Manufacturers Association (APVMA)?
  6. Had restrictions placed on its use?

If you have answered yes to one or more of these questions, then your chemical is ready for disposal through ChemClear.
Group 1 chemicals are collected free of charge.

A per lt/kg fee applies for disposal of Group 2 chemicals. A quotation from ChemClear is provided prior to a collection being scheduled for pickup of these items.

More information on eligible chemicals and chemical group classification can be found at ChemClear's website; Eligible Chemicals.

To see upcoming collections and register your chemicals visit the ChemClear website, or for more information or to make a booking over the phone contact ChemClear on free call 1800 008 182.
