The final step in becoming an Australian Citizen is to make a Pledge of Commitment at a citizenship ceremony.

After successfully applying for Australian citizenship with the Department of Home Affairs, candidates are invited to make their pledge at a citizenship ceremony organised by their local council.

Dubbo Regional Council holds several ceremonies during the year.

If you have received your letter of approval and are awaiting to attend a ceremony council will notify you by an invitation letter of when to attend a ceremony. Please note due to large volumes of candidates you may not be invited to attend a ceremony for several months.

The Department of Home Affairs manages all citizenship placements. Therefore, we are not able to advise which ceremony date you will be placed in, please call 131 880 or head to their website; Department of Home Affairs
