Dubbo City Youth Council

Dubbo City Youth Council is supported by Council as an avenue for young people to provide direct input on youth issues and to involve youth in local government decision-making processes.

The Youth Council meets monthly and makes comments and recommendations annually on Council’s Management Plan, Budget and the 2040 Community Strategic Plan.

Council provides the Youth Council with an annual budget of $2,000.

Youth Council membership

The Youth Council consists of approximately 25 young people aged between 12 and 25. There are representatives from each high school, TAFE, Charles Sturt University and the local community.

The Youth Council each year work on award winning community projects. One project in particular is the state wide annual Youth Week celebrations. The Youth Council also work with key stakeholders from the Dubbo community to deliver key youth projects.
