Australia Day awards

The Australia Day Awards are proudly presented by the Australia Day Council of NSW and administered by local Councils.

The Awards promote and recognise outstanding examples of citizenship and achievement during the current year, and/or outstanding service over a number of years to a local community or over and above normal employment duties.

Council provides awards for outstanding citizens, sports persons and cultural person in the Local Government Area, as part of the national Australia Day Awards.

Council is seeking nominations for the 2017 Australia Day Awards, which close 5pm, Friday, 16 December 2016. Nominate someone who makes a real difference in your community and give them the opportunity to be rewarded and recognised for their important contribution.

The Awards will be presented at the Australia Day celebrations in Victoria Park on Thursday, 26 January 2017.

In addition to the Awards ceremony, a barbecue breakfast will be served from 7:00am and a Citizenship Ceremony will begin at 8:00am.

There will also be children's activities and the Dubbo Aquatic Leisure Centre will have free entry from 10:00am - 12md.

Senior Citizen of the Year Award

The Senior Citizen of the Year Award is presented annually by Dubbo Regional Council to promote and recognise outstanding examples of citizenship and achievement. A selection committee made up of past winners of the Award will assess all nominations in strict confidence.This award is presented in March each year during the Senior Citizens Expo held by the Dubbo Neighborhood Center.
