Wellington Pound

The Pound at Wellington is managed by Western Plains Regional Council. The pound is provided as a service to residents in Wellington and surrounding areas for lost and stray cats and dogs.

The pound keeps dogs and cats protected until their owners can be found and endeavours to re-home others .  Fees apply for the release of impounded animals and all animals must be registered before their release.

Location and Opening Hours

The Wellington Pound is located at the rear of the Wellington Works Depot on Amaroo Drive.

The Pound is not manned on a continuous basis, however, if access is required please call the Wellington branch Ranger on 0418 636 968 during the hours of 7am and 4pm on weekdays.

Surrender cages are located at the pound and can be accessed 24/7 for stray dogs and cats.
