Dubbo Sustainable City Expo and Science Festival
Dubbo Regional Council is the organiser of the 2019 Dubbo Sustainable City Expo & Science Festival to be held on Saturday 24 August 2019 from 10am until 2pm at the Western Plains Cultural Centre.
The fourteenth (14th) annual Expo & Science Festival aims to provide information to the Dubbo and Wellington communities about how to live and work more sustainably; promote the wonders of science; and highlight how science can help to achieve a sustainable future.
The event will feature:
Sustainable living exhibits, with tips on how to reduce household energy and water bills, create less waste, and live in harmony with the environment.
Hands-on science exhibits to inspire and engage the local community about the wonders of science.
Science Café – with light refreshments available for purchase
Plenty of kids’ activities and competitions to enter!

To register as an exhibitor for the Expo & Science Festival simply download the 2019 Exhibitor Information Pack (PDF 417.8KB), which includes the Exhibitor Registration Form.
Please submit Exhibitor Registration Forms to Council no later than Friday 28 June 2019. Late entries will be accepted if space is available.
Register a Supporting Event
As a new element to the ever evolving Expo & Science Festival Council would like to assist in promoting any ‘sustainability or science related events’ happening across the local government area in the lead up to, and surrounding, Council’s annual event.
So if you can’t make the annual Expo & Science Festival, and/or wish to promote an additional information night, workshop, tour, 100 mile dinner, market, film night, car boot sale, community gardening day, exhibition, school event, or the like please download the Supporting Event Registration Form (PDF 353.3KB).
Council’s Sustainability and Education Officer will be in contact with you regarding your proposed supporting event, and approved events will be listed and promoted on this webpage.
Starting as an information night in 2006 attracting 13 exhibitors and some 200 people, this Council initiative has grown into the Sustainable City Expo and Science Festival, an all-day event. The 2018 event was held in late August and showcased over 30 exhibitors, drawing a crowd of over 600 people to the Dubbo Regional Theatre and Convention Centre.
