ARIA AWARD WINNER HEADLINES DREAM FESTIVAL EVENTS

As the region’s DREAM Festival kicks off this Saturday, community and visitors can celebrate with ARIA Award winning Tania Doko from Bachelor Girl. Ms Doko will be entertaining crowds along with local band Under the Radar at the Dubbo Farmers’ Markets now being held this Saturday at the Dubbo Showground from 8am.

Ms Doko is also headlining to sold out event Zoocoustic on this Sunday (16 October 2022). Residents are encouraged to follow the DREAM Festival on social media for additional tickets for Zoocoustic on the day.

The performances are just some of the many exciting events being held during the festival between 13 October – 23 October.

Mayor of Dubbo Regional Council Mathew Dickerson is looking forward to seeing the event program kick off. “The DREAM festival provides opportunities for social and cultural connection – in addition to the economic benefits which will be delivered when Dubbo welcomes visitors attending the various events throughout the next two weeks. Council is proud to lead the delivery of this event in partnership with community and sponsoring partners. We are also appreciative of funding received from the NSW Government as part of the Reconnecting Regional NSW Community Events Program as it enabled Council to build upon the DREAM Festival program with Sky Castles,” Councillor Dickerson said.

Taste of Seafood is also a new inclusion to the DREAM program this year. Dubbo is one of eight locations chosen to host Taste of Seafood sitting beside Sydney; Ballina; Bermagui; Hawkesbury; Wallis Lake; Newcastle and Coffs Harbour on the Festival’s program. The events are run by the Professional Fishers Association, with support from the NSW Government with the objective of championing local industry and supporting sustainable fishing practices.
