TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF WHYLANDRA WASTE AND RECYCLING CENTRE

The Whylandra Waste and Recycling Centre will closed to the public this morning (Tuesday 15 November 2022) following extensive damage to the facility overnight. The damage follows a similar incident at Wellington Waste Facility last week and police are investigating.

Kerbside collection will continue however there may be some delays to collection times.

Residents in Dubbo needing to dispose of household waste this morning can utilise JR Richards & Sons Transfer Station located at 60 Fitzroy Street, Dubbo. The Wellington Waste Facility and rural Transfer Stations are operating as normal.

Council will be contacting all commercial clients to discuss alternative arrangements.

Work is already underway to undertake required repairs however an expected reopening time is unknown.

A further update will be provided.

UPDATE 12:45PM TUESDAY 15 NOVEMBER 2022

The Whylandra Waste and Recycling Centre is now opened to the public, unfortunately the facility is unable to accept cash for the remainder of the day.

Council wishes to advise that Whylandra Waste and Recycling Centre will be operating as normal including accepting cash from 8am Wednesday 16 November.
