Community asked to pick a design for new playground at Spears Drive Park
Western Plains Regional Council is inviting the community to help choose the new playground at Spears Drive Park from one of two possible designs.
“Expressions of Interest to design the new playground were sent out earlier this year and five options were received,” Council’s Manager Horticultural Services Ian McAlister said.
“After careful consideration, the selection has been narrowed down to two possible designs and Council is now asking the community to decide which of the two parks they prefer.
“Both playgrounds meet the criteria and the $50,000 budget set out in the EOI and Council are encouraging members of the public who use this area to get online and pick a design,” he said.
“Both playgrounds are bright, vibrant inclusive play spaces and have an array of appealing features; however these features are not interchangeable. The community are asked to choose either Option A or Option B when voting,”
“Over recent years there has been a significant number of young families move into the Rosewood Estate, with numerous requests for Council to improve the recreational opportunities for the youth in the area. Council has responded to the community by allocating $50,000 to replace the existing swing set at Spears Drive Park with a new playground that has been designed to cater for toddlers through to teenagers.”
