Dubbo Regional Council Manager Social Services John Watts said it was excellent to see Dubbo looking so great at this time of year and encouraged everyone to work together to ensure it stayed that way for visiting friends and relatives.

“A lot of work has been done by many people in the community to make Dubbo shine at this time of year and it is important that we appreciate and respect this.”

“I know the people of Dubbo take a lot of pride in making sure the City looks its best and so I am encouraging everyone to come forward if they witness any theft or vandalism.”

“I also want to remind people that Council offers a reward of up to $2500 for information leading to the conviction of anyone committing wilful damage, including graffiti, to or theft of Council property.”

“This includes any equipment, shrubs, trees and plants in parks and gardens, public recreation areas, streets and other public places in the Dubbo Regional Council area and at this time of year extends to the Christmas decorations in the CBD.

“This reward is an initiative of Council and Police and is designed to give the public ownership of our community and promote a sense of pride in how Dubbo looks.”
