Dream begins in Dubbo
Dubbo Regional Council Administrator Michael Kneipp has welcomed the beginning of the 2016 Macquarie Credit Union Dream Festival.
The launch of the Festival was held on Thursday at the Church Street Rotunda with a Pianos on the Pavement event.
“The Dream Festival is an excellent opportunity for Dubbo to showcase its artistic and creative side,” Mr Kneipp said.
“There is a great range of activities and events held in various locations throughout the City during the week of the Festival and there is something for everyone to enjoy.”
“Organisers have put an incredible amount of effort into the Festival and it is a great boost for Dubbo, drawing locals and visitors to its many events.”
“Last year it was estimated that 10,000 people attended the Twilight Markets and Lantern Parade at Victoria Park.”
“Council has supported the Festival since the first staging of the event in 2011.”
“In 2016 council decided to continue that support with $40,000 in funding for the Festival.”
“There are so many talented people in Dubbo and this is the perfect time for them to share their talents with a very appreciative audience,” Mr Kneipp added.
“The Festival is truly a collaborative community effort bringing together community organisations, the artistic community, schools and many volunteers for a fantastic celebration.”
