Dubbo Day Awards celebrate community service and dedication
Dubbo Day Awards are presented to local volunteers each November on the anniversary of Dubbo’s gazettal as a village in 1849.
“The awards are a great way to recognise local citizens who have, over a period of time, carried out community work which has improved the quality of life for individuals or the local community as a whole,” Administrator Michael Kneipp said.
“If you know someone who deserves recognition, please nominate them for this year’s Dubbo Day Awards.”
“Think of all the people you know who are volunteering for the benefit of others – sporting coaches/administration, school or day-care assistants, charity workers and disability advocates.”
“Consider nominating someone you know to thank them for all their hard work. I’m sure it would be well received even though we know volunteers aren’t in it for the thanks.”
An online nomination form is available on the Dubbo Regional Council Website or the form can be downloaded, completed and returned to Council.
The closing date for nominations is 5.00 pm Wednesday 26 October.
A ceremony for the winners will be held on 23 November at the Dubbo Regional Theatre and Convention Centre.
