Dubbo Multicultural Festival seeks new volunteers
The Dubbo Multicultural Festival has been celebrating Dubbo’s culture and diversity for more than ten years and in 2016 the organising committee is seeking ideas and community support to reinvigorate the festival.
Dubbo City Council Manager of Social Services John Watts said the festival is funded by Council as a unique event that promotes harmony across people of all nationalities.
“The multicultural festival is one event each year where the colour, traditions and culture of the many nationalities represented in Dubbo come together,” Mr Watts said.
“However, as with any event organised by community volunteers there is a need to reinvigorate the committee. We are opening up the next committee meeting, inviting people with new ideas and new skills to come along, learn more about the Festival and assist with the planning of this year’s event,” Mr Watts said.
The next committee meeting will be help on Wednesday 9 March, 6pm at the Council Meeting Rooms. Anyone who is interested in volunteering is welcome to attend.
