Dubbo Sports Awards recognise achievements of clubs and individuals
Sporting people of Dubbo and Wellington will have their achievements recognised when the 14th annual Dubbo Sports Awards are presented at a special event on Friday 18 November at the Dubbo RSL Theatrette from 6.30pm.
The Dubbo Sports Council, the Federal Member for Parkes, Mr Mark Coulton MP, and the Federal Member for Calare, Mr Andrew Gee MP have joined forces to recognise the sports people of Dubbo and Wellington through the awards night.
“The Dubbo Sports Awards will recognise the outstanding achievements of Dubbo and Wellington’s most talented sports people of 2016 and also celebrate the important people behind the scenes,” Dubbo Regional Council Manager Recreation Planning and Programs Tracey Whillock said.
“There are three categories in the Dubbo Sports Awards, they are Individual or Team Achievement, Individual Contribution and Community Contribution.”
“The Dubbo Sport Awards are an important way to highlight the contributions sport can make to the community.”
“There will also be a guest speaker at the awards ceremony, Lisa Beehag who was a former Australian netball player and coach of the Sydney Swifts in the late 1990s and early 2000s.”
