Summer season begins soon
The summer is set to start soon at Wellington and Geurie pools with works undertaken by Dubbo Regional Council to be completed on time for the swimming season.
“The Wellington Pool will open on 29 October 2016 after $50,000 was spent on maintenance and repairs,” Director Parks and Landcare Ian McAlister said.
“This included the renewal of the circulation pump, the relining of the filtration system return pipes, the removal of a section of wall in the men’s toilets, the stabilisation of the main wall of the 50 metre pool and concrete grinding to remove trip hazards on the concourse.”
“The Geurie Pool will open on 12 November after work was undertaken to replace the chlorination system.”
“The new system brings the pool’s plant room in line with current standards.”
The Wellington Pool is open seven days a week, excluding Christmas Day, with the early session running from 6am to 7.30am and the day session running from 9am to 7pm.
Price of entry is $5 for adults, $2 for children and $2 for pensioners and non-swimming patrons with discount books of 10 tickets and season passes available.
Geurie Pool is open during weekdays from 6am to 7am for the morning session and 3.30pm to 7pm for the day session and during weekends and school holidays from 6am to 7am for the early session and 11.30am to 7pm for the day session. The pool is closed Christmas Day.
