Update on Erskine Street Pump Station upgrade

Dubbo Regional Council wishes to provide an update on the sewage pipeline construction for the Erskine Street Sewage Pump Station upgrade.   The new pipeline runs from the Erskine Street Pump Station on the corner of Erskine and Darling Streets along Darling Street and left into Talbragar Street to the Showground.

Council’s contractor for the pipeline construction is undertaking clean-up works today (13 October) and tomorrow (14 October) on Talbragar Street between Gipps and Darling streets.

The asphalting of Talbragar Street will take place on Saturday, 15 October, 2016.

The asphalting of the Darling Street sidewalk is scheduled to take place on Saturday, 15 October, 2016 and is expected to be completed Monday, 17 October, 2016.

Further road works will be required as construction work progresses. Council will advise the public prior to further works commencing.

The upgrade to the pump station is the first since 1985 and addresses operational, environmental, safety and high maintenance requirements for a piece of the City’s essential infrastructure.

The upgrade is essential to address problems of insufficient pumping capacity, lack of emergency overflow storage, lack of odour control and monitoring and insufficient emergency protections.
