Dubbo Regional Council Congratulates Director Planning and Environment

Dubbo Regional Council has congratulated Director of Planning and Environment Melissa Watkins who has accepted a position as Director Development and Environment with Port Macquarie-Hastings Council. Ms Watkins’ resignation from Council will be effective from 8 June 2018.

Dubbo Regional Council Chief Executive Officer Michael McMahon said he has congratulated Ms Watkins on her service to Dubbo Regional Council.

Ms Watkins was appointed Director of Planning and Environment for Dubbo Regional Council commencing in July 2017 following an organisational restructure and has held previous positions as Director Environmental Services for Dubbo Regional Council and the former Dubbo City Council.

Mr McMahon said Melissa Watkins has provided some 16 years of service to the Dubbo Regional community.

“I have personally thanked Melissa Watkins for her leadership of the Division,” Mr McMahon said.

“Melissa has been a key part of the Executive Leadership team driving the development of a new draft Community Strategic Plan and the expansion and strengthening of planning services in Wellington.”

“She has also been responsible for the strategic management of a diverse portfolio of services including City Strategy, Environment and Health Services, Ranger Services and Building and Development Services,” Mr McMahon said.

Mr Stephen Wallace, currently Manager Building and Development Services will be appointed Acting Director of Planning and Environment effective 11 June 2018 pending a future recruitment process for a permanent Director.
