6 Oct 2020   SUCCESSFUL TRIAL USHERS EXTENSION OF DUBBO-BALLINA FLIGHTS
Following the success of a trial between Dubbo Regional Council (DRC), Ballina Shire Council, and Fly Pelican, the popular Dubbo-Ballina flight route will be extended until 31 January 2021, with additional flights also added to the schedule. The original trial period was due to expire on Friday 20 November 2020.

Dubbo Regional Council’s (DRC’s) Old Dubbo Gaol has recorded its second-highest number of visitors in a single day, with nearly 700 people coming through the gates on the third day of school holidays! Meanwhile, more than 600 people are walking through the gates at the Old Dubbo Gaol every day, making it the busiest school holiday period on record. Staff are now preparing for an even busier long weekend.

The Mayor of the Dubbo Region, Councillor Ben Shields has welcomed the findings of the NSW Auditor General’s report into the Support for regional town water infrastructure. The report clearly identifies the responsibility of the state’s water supply crisis during the worst drought on record laid with the NSW Government, who are the statutory owners of the state’s water resources, and not local councils, who bore the brunt of political criticism during the disaster.
