Visitor Information Centres in Dubbo and Wellington will be closed to the public; however, staff can still be contacted via phone.

Dubbo Regional Livestock Markets (DRLM)
Open with restrictions

To ensure that Dubbo Regional Livestock Markets (DRLM) can trade as long as possible only DRLM staff, DRLM agents, Dubbo Stock and Station Agents staff and genuine registered commission/company buyers and carriers are permitted on site. Please also follow the below restrictions: 


  • QR code check in
  • Mandatory mask wearing
  • The need for regular and correct hand-washing procedures.
  • Not shaking hands.
  • Maintaining a 1.5m distance from others.
  • If you have symptoms you must self-isolate and seek immediate medical advice.
Council waste facilities - including transfer stations
Open by appointment only

All regular kerbside waste collection will continue as usual.

General public:

The Whylandra Waste & Recycling Facility and the Wellington Waste Facility are operating on a booking system during the current stay-at-home orders. The general public must have a booking to be allowed access. To make a booking, please contact Customer Experience on (02) 6801 4000 or by Council's online booking system.

Rural waste customers:

Rural Transfer Stations will be open as per usual days and operating hours but access will only be allowed to residents that do not receive a kerbside bin collection service. At the rural transfer stations Council will use rural waste charge records and a licence check to determine the eligibility of residents to enter the facility, customers who have a bin collection service will be turned away.

Wellington Caves and Caravan Park

All tours of the Wellington Caves have been cancelled. Staff can still be contacted by phone.

Western Plains Cultural Centre (WPCC)

The Western Plains Cultural Centre, including Creo Cafe, and all associated classes and programs are closed during the lock down period. Staff can still be contacted via phone.

Macquarie Regional Library branches are closed during the lock down, but will still offer a number of online services, and book deliveries.

Under the current Public Health Order, people in New South Wales are permitted to leave home for compassionate reasons, people can have short visits to a gravesite to pay respects and mourn a loved one.When visiting, please follow the below:

  • Funerals remain capped at 10 attendees plus necessary funeral staff
  • Only people from the same household may gather
  • Otherwise, outdoor gatherings are limited to 2 people

Contactless service will be provided with eftpos-only transactions and QR code check-in requirements.

Please note, Wellington's overnight cages will be locked, as Council operates on skeleton staffing at this time.

Dubbo Showground Open

The Showground is only open to facilitate testing for COVID-19. Please be patient if you are driving up to the showground for drive-through testing during this time.
