The $8.35 million Wellington Aquatic Leisure Centre was officially opened in November 2020 with hundreds of people joining home-town legend Ben Austin swimming the first laps of the new pool.

Mayor of the Dubbo Region Councillor Ben Shields and Member for Dubbo Dugald Saunders unveiled a plaque before Ben Austin cut the ribbon and led local families into the pool to begin  community celebrations.

The centre boasts an eight-lane pool with disabled access, heated exercise and learn-to-swim pool and splash pad following redevelopment of the Wellington Memorial Pool.
