COUNCIL IS WORKING TO REPAIR A BROKEN BORE PUMP IN DUBBO

Dubbo Regional Council (DRC) is aware that a pump located at a bore within Council’s ground water network has broken down.

This pump breakdown does not affect Dubbo’s potable (drinking) water, nor does it pose any risk to the community’s water supply.

The pump at the Riverbank bore has experienced a mechanical failure and has been switched off.  As a result, bore water supply for irrigation and non-potable water use at the following locations has been affected:

  • Bob Dowling Ovals
  • John McGrath Fields
  • Katrina Gibbs
  • Nita McGrath Courts
  • Hans Claven Fields
  • Visitor Information Centre
  • Ollie Robbins Oval (off due to original water restrictions)
  • Riverbank Foreshores (off due to original water restrictions)

Council is making arrangements to remove the broken pump for assessment and repair over the coming days.

Meantime, Council is working on a number of operational contingencies should water be required for any of these areas.
