Two trees will be removed from Yarrawonga Basin to prevent further damage to residential property backing onto the park on Separation Road, Dubbo.

Remedial action over the past three years by Dubbo Regional Council to prevent damage has seen roots still penetrate barriers. Roots have damaged sewer pipes and plumbing on several occasions.

Recent inspections by Council indicated continued root growth risked major damage to the house.

The trees were planted about the same time houses were constructed in the area.

A tree replacement plan is being prepared by Council with new trees to be planted further away from residential properties that back onto Yarrawonga Basin.
