Dubbo Regional Council is bringing Australia’s biggest community and sustainability event, Garage Sale Trail, to the local area on21 & 22 November, 2020 (please note the date change).
This jam-packed weekend is a great way to declutter, make some money and meet your neighbours. Sellers in 2019 made an average of $319 at their garage sale and made 49 new connections in their community.
Households, schools, community groups and local businesses are invited to host a sale or shop the Trail, joining over 400,000 Australians in this nationwide movement that sees over 3,500 tonnes of stuff diverted from landfill.
For shoppers, it’s a great opportunity to pick up a bargain and do your bit for the environment by preventing perfectly good items going to landfill.

2020 marks the first time that Australians can participate in the event online, as well as face-to-face. To celebrate, Garage Sale Trail, in partnership with Dubbo Regional Council, will be hosting FREE online masterclasses throughout October and November, in the lead up to the Garage Sale Trail weekend on 21 - 22 November 2020. Residents interested in organising and hosting a sale on the weekend can register their interest now at garagesaletrail.com.au . You’ll be notified when registrations open in August and be invited to list your garage sale event on the website. Participants get access to handy resources, tips and guides to make their sale a success, all provided for free.

Why is Council involved?
Garage Sale Trail is one of a number of council initiatives designed to reduce waste to landfill and provide the community with ways to dispose of unwanted items responsibly.
