DUBBO ART FAIR THIS MONTH

The Western Plains Cultural Centre (WPCC) will host the annual Dubbo Art Fair from 13 – 14 September with over 40 local and regional artists showcasing and selling their art at the event.

Now in its fifth year the event has established itself as the most significant art fair west of the Blue Mountains.

“The Dubbo Art Fair is a platform for local artists to gain exposure for their work and interact with the community, building a healthy commercial art sector locally,” Dubbo Regional Council’s Curator, Kent Buchanan said.

“We don’t charge the artist for a stall, and we don’t take any commission on sales, so 100 per cent of the money goes directly to the artist.

“The role that art and culture play in the economy cannot be understated, and the Dubbo Art Fair contributes significantly to this.”

Local artist Meysam Behvand Yousefi from Wind & Leaves will be exhibiting at the Dubbo Art Fair for the first time this year.

Meysam Behvand Yousefi said he was looking forward to displaying his art for the first time at the Dubbo Art Fair.

“It is a great opportunity to connect with the local community, meet other artists and share my work with new audiences.

“My art focuses on several mediums including painting, photography, sculpture and highlights nature, culture and abstract themes. I will be presenting a collection of my art across the various mediums at this year’s Dubbo Art Fair,” Mr Yousefi said.

The WPCC will also host a professional development breakfast for artists on Saturday 13 September at 8:30am which will feature commercial gallery owners from Tamworth and Orange who will provide insights on how to approach and work with a gallery and how to price your work. This event is free and open to any members of the community, with bookings essential via 123tix.

The official opening for the Dubbo Art Fair will take place on Friday 12 September at 6pm and will be officially opened by the highly regarded painter, Luke Sciberras. Tickets are $20 and can be booked via 123tix.

The event will be open to the community from 10am – 4pm on Saturday 13 and Sunday 14 September 2025. Admission is free.

The Dubbo Art Fair is supported by Dubbo Regional Council and is an initiative of the Council’s SPARC Cultural Plan. Dubbo Art Fair is also supported through funding from Create NSW.
