SECTION OF TRACKER RILEY SHARED PATHWAY CLOSED DUE TO FIRE HAZARD

Dubbo Regional Council (DRC) will temporarily close a section of the Tracker Riley Shared Pathway following a fire across the river from Lady Culter Oval, on Saturday afternoon.

Residents are being asked to stay away from the area, on the western side of the river as the fire continues to smoulder in large gum trees alongside the pathway, creating a risk of falling debris.

The Tracker Riley Shared Pathway will be closed between the Yabang Gee Bridge at the end of Tamworth Street, the Newell Highway and the footbridge at Sir Roden Cutler Park.

For public safety reasons, the area is expected to remain closed for several days while the risk posed by fire-damaged and unstable trees is assessed and mitigated.

Council will advise when the section of the shared pathway will reopen.

Council thanks the community for their understanding and cooperation as public safety is prioritised at this site.
