Dubbo Regional Council Mayor, Councillor Ben Shields said the first Committee meetings are important events and signifies the start of work for the Councillors.

“The formal and ceremonial aspects of establishing a new elected body of Councillors is now complete and from Monday evening Council will be debating, considering and making recommendations and decisions about the future development of the Dubbo Regional Local Government Areas,” Councillor Shields said.

“The first item on the agenda for each Committee will be the election of a Chair. Then there are important items to consider which include budget commitments for major projects, Master Plans for Cameron Park and Kennard Park and consideration of community feedback on a Wellington Destination brand,” Councillor Shields said.

“These are important matters to be considered by the Committees so recommendations can be made and final decisions made at the Ordinary Council meeting Monday week (Monday 23 October),” he said.

“These meetings are open to the public and interested people may speak to the Committee on a matter on the agenda. I welcome interested people to come along to observe or to participate as they are entitled to do,” Councillor Shields said.
