First and second rate instalment due this month

Council wishes to remind ratepayers that both the first and second rate instalments for 2017/2018 are payable by November 30. Two instalments are due for payment as a result of the extension granted for the first instalment originally due in August.

“The extension was granted due to unexpected delays with Council’s printing contractor which resulted in the issue of the 2017-2018 Rate Notice being later than anticipated,” Council’s Director of Corporate Services Craig Giffin said.

As a result and in accordance with the requirements of the Local Government Act 1993, payment of the first instalment, which is traditionally due for payment by 31 August 2017, was extended to 30 November 2017, to coincide with the due date for the second rate instalment.

“If you pay your quarterly rate instalment by deduction from your bank account both the first and second instalment amounts will be deducted from your nominated bank account on 30 November 2017,” Mr Giffin said.

Ratepayers are reminded that they will need to update Council’s automated payee details with new Biller Codes and reference numbers applicable for payments via BPAY or Australia Post.
