Jingle on the Bell
Dubbo Regional Council is gearing up to spread the Christmas cheer, with the Jingle on the Bell initiative set to be launched on Friday 1 December 2017.
Council’s Economic Development Officer, Tammy Pickering, said the launch would see the official unveil of the Christmas tree which will take pride of place in Wellington’s Cameron Park during the festive season.
“It’s shaping up to be a very exciting program,” Ms Pickering said.
“On Friday 1 December, along with unveiling the Christmas tree, we will also be turning on the Christmas lights and there will also be a visit from a certain man dressed in red,” she said.
Council’s Jingle on the Bell initiative also includes the Jingle Elf Giveaways, which will be running from 11 December to 22 December 2017.
“Our Jingle Elf will be visiting Wellington businesses to reward residents for shopping local,” Ms Pickering said.
But the festivities do not stop there.
The Swift Street Plaza will be transformed into a Christmas Bazaar on Saturday 16 December and 23 December, with horse and carriage rides, local entertainment, popcorn, fairy floss and a special visitor.
“We’re encouraging businesses to get into the Christmas spirit by participating in the Shop Front Window Display competition,” Ms Pickering said.
“The winner will be announced on Wednesday 20 December 2017.”
