Nominate an outstanding citizen for Australia Day Awards 2018

Dubbo Regional Council is seeking nominations from the community of outstanding citizens to be recognised in the 2018 Australia Day Awards for Dubbo and Wellington.

Council’s Mayor Councillor Ben Shields said the Australia Day Awards honour the region’s highest achievers and recognises those community representatives that display outstanding citizenship.

“The Australia Day Awards program is Council’s most prestigious Awards program and recognises those people who have achieved at the highest levels or have made superior contributions to our community,” Councillor Shields said.

“Previous award winners have come from all walks of life and are people that are dedicated to serving the local community,” he said.

“A vibrant community relies on the dedication of volunteers who continuously go above what is expected of them in the interests of making the community a better place. There are also people in our region performing at elite levels in their chosen field. The Australia Day Awards are a chance to

recognise these people and honour them publicly,” Councillor Shields said.

“The application process is straightforward and I encourage all residents to nominate someone they believe deserves this recognition,” Councillor Shields said.
