Destination Guides Launch Major Partnership Program

200,000 new Destination Visitor guides are about to hit letterboxes, visitor information centres and tourist attractions across NSW as Dubbo Regional Council has launched the 2018/2019 Destination Partnership Program which promotes the region as a great place for visitors, events and new residents.

Mayor of Dubbo Regional Council said a deliberate approach has been taken to promote the region in a holistic way inclusive of Dubbo and Wellington as one complementary region and to market the appeal of the entire Dubbo Regional Local Government Area.

“Almost 200 businesses including tourist attractions, cafes, restaurants, professional services, retail outlets, function centres, motels, hotels and recreation clubs and education services have joined the partnership program,” Councillor Shields said.

The partners are included in the new suite of guides for visitor, event organisers and new residents and will be further promoted throughout the life of the partnership through a range of marketing initiatives that highlight the region in specific markets.

Dubbo Regional Council introduce the guides digitally across social media targeting destination markets. Additional content will be rolled out across social media channels, including an exciting competition targeting visiting friends and relatives as part of this campaign.

Councillor Shields said the visitor guides look fantastic and are one demonstration of how the wider Dubbo Region has the capacity to attract visitors, meet the needs of new residents and support great events.

“I would like to congratulate the local partners that have joined the 2018/2019 Partnership Program and look forward to involving them in the events and activities that support the Destination marketing program,” Councillor Shields said.

“I also encourage every person across the region to join the distribution of the latest guides and send a copy of the latest guide to a friend or family member that lives outside the LGA and encourage them to visit our great region,” he said.

The Dubbo, Wellington and Great Western Plains Visitor guide will be distributed to residents across the LGA commencing Monday 12 March 2018. Copies of the Visitor Guide, the New Residents Guide and the Events Guide are available from Visitor Information Centres in Dubbo and Wellington and online at and
