Dubbo Regional Council celebrates National Water Week
Dubbo Regional Council will celebrate National Water Week 2018, held from 21 – 27 October. National Water Week 2018 will unite community, school, environmental and industry groups holding events that encourage community participation in water protection and conservation.
Dubbo Regional Council’s Manager of Water Supply and Sewage, Stephen Carter said this year’s National Water Week theme is Water for me, water for all.
“This year’s theme draws community attention to the importance of clean water to our health and quality of life.
“National Water Week is a great opportunity for the community to take actions that help protect and conserve our most precious resource – water,” said Mr Carter.
Dubbo Regional Council have sponsored water sustainability education programs for Dubbo Schools and have also launched a colouring in competition to help encourage children to learn more about the importance of water in everyday life. Certificates and prizes will be awarded to the winning students and runners up.
Information on water saving and tips can be readily accessed from the Dubbo Regional Council website on the Household and Residents Saving Water page. During National Water Week Dubbo Regional Council will have a display at the customer services areas in Wellington and Dubbo demonstrating products and tips that can assist residents with methods to save water.
