Entrepreneur John Moriarty to speak at Small Business month event in Wellington, Thursday 25 October
Dubbo Regional Council through the support of NSW Department of Industry, is hosting a free event on Thursday 25 October 2018 in Wellington to share some secrets to success of creating a successful small business.
The Small Business Event, Finding your passion and creating successful business, features John Kundereri Moriarty as the key note speaker to share his entrepreneurial journey.
Dubbo Regional Council Economic Development and Marketing Manager Josie Howard said Mr Moriarty will share his entrepreneurial journey which includes co-founding Australia’s leading Australian Indigenous design and strategy consultancy firm, Balarinji.
“John Moriarty is responsible for the sensational indigenous designs, Wunala and Nalanji Dreaming’s, painted on two of Qantas fleet of Boeing 747 aircraft,” Mrs Howard said.
“This Small Business event is a fantastic opportunity for any budding entrepreneur and particularly Aboriginal business people to listen and learn from one of Australia’s most celebrated entrepreneurs,” she said.
John Moriarty’s was also Co-founder and co-chair of the Nangala Project a not-for-profit initiative committed to creating sustainable opportunities for youth in Australia's remote Indigenous communities and is a recipient of the Order of Australia (AM), the St Peters Citizenship Award and an Advance Australia Award for Service to Industry and Commerce.
Following Mr Moriarty’s presentation members of the audience will have an opportunity to hear from a panel of local indigenous business owners and entrepreneurs that will also be answering questions from locals considering their own business space.
“The event is free and whilst we are focusing on the development of indigenous business this event is open to both indigenous and non-indigenous and everyone will walk away with some valuable insights they can apply in their own business journey,” Mrs Howard said.
