GOOD OLD-FASHIONED, SIDE-SPLITTING FUN FOR THE WHOLE FAMILY
Bringing one of the oldest forms of humour to the stage (think Charlie Chaplin and the more modern-day Mr Bean), Kaput is the ideal indoor outing for the whole family at Dubbo Regional Theatre on Saturday 12 October, 6.00pm
This multi-award winning family show has melted hearts of all ages around the world with its glorious brand of slapstick, acrobatics and total silliness.
Be swept up in the mayhem that is the larger-than-life ‘elegant buffoon’ Tom Flanagan, as one man’s life is flipped upside-down by the lonely, dust-covered world that surrounds him. This clumsy ‘Mr. Fixit’ takes one step forward and two-steps back in a highly skilled, hilariously funny and beautifully poignant bit of madness.
Tom Flanagan is a graduate of the internationally renowned circus school, The Flying Fruit Flies, and his first solo show Kaput opened in 2012 to a premier sold-out season at the Adelaide Fringe Festival in the Garden of Unearthly Delights, where it was nominated for Best Circus and Physical Theatre.
With many ‘oops’ moments, Kaput is an interactive roller-coaster ride filled with leaps, tumbles and tricks that will have school-aged children, and adults, bounding into the school holidays with smiles on their faces.
Dubbo Regional Theatre and Convention Centre Manager, Linda Christof says the show gets hearts pumping.
“It starts off with a tear in the projection screen at the cinema which needs a quick repair—the more he tries to fix it, the more damage he does and the more hilarious it becomes. Tom is a physical comedian so there is little dialogue but it is a fast-paced 60 minute show so hang on!” she said.
“What’s a kid’s show without audience participation? This show has it in spades. So mums, dads and grandparents, get involved and create some great memories for the kids during the school holidays.”
Tickets are on sale now from drtcc.com.au or the Theatre Box Office on 6801 4378.
