Get together with some friends, and come along for a casual afternoon of fun, and a complementary drink, for Dubbo Regional Theatre and Convention Centre’s (DRTCC) season launch, Sunday 29 November, 2020.

This provides an opportunity for people to see what's in store for the upcoming season, and is a great way to ease into attending the theatre, for those who haven’t been before. The season launch provides patrons with an overview of what the upcoming season will look like, and with a complementary drink on-arrival, it makes for an enjoyable Sunday out. The format will be slightly different to what has been seen in previous years, with a little 'highlights' reel to give patrons a look at what's in store, as opposed to a full-scale production.

2020 has been a challenging year for the entertainment industry, and the team at the DRTCC is looking forward to the future with optimism and excitement, which is reflected in the 2021 season theme. The shows contained within the next season will be revealed at the launch, but there will be plenty to choose from for all ages. Also included will be some shows from this year’s season that had to be postponed – now scheduled in the 2021 season.

Instead of our usual 60 minute variety concert, refreshments and social mingling in the foyer, patrons will be treated to an intimate and exclusive insight into the 2021 Season in a COVIDSafe format, where you can sit comfortably in the theatre with your drink and depart with a show bag including the 2021 Season booklet, hot off the press! The afternoon is made possible by the support of our Season Launch sponsor, Kings Hall Jewellers,” said Mayor of the Dubbo Region Councillor Ben Shields.

“We want to put the doom and gloom of the global pandemic behind us and reassure the community that the venue is COVID Safe and that we are putting live performance back on the agenda – after all – that’s show business!” said Councillor Shields.

Manager, Dubbo Regional Theatre and Convention Centre, Linda Christof is excited to reveal the season theme and line-up of 20 shows.

“We acknowledge there is a carryover of some popular shows to next year but there are also additional gems added to the program including some family and youth shows at Wellington Civic Centre during the school holidays,” said Ms Christof.

Manager, Regional Events, Kim Hague, said, “It’s a colourful program and it’s clear that people miss coming to the theatre - going by the ticket take up for the Season Launch. Many people also want to know what they need to do about ticket exchanges and credits and converting them into a 2021 Subscription. All of this will be explained plus there will be an announcement of a new subscription benefit that will appeal to many.”

Tickets are $15 each and can be purchased by phoning the Box Office on 6801 4378 or online at There are limited tickets available so make sure you book early.
