BE GAME DAY READY FOR THE NRL 2022!

Dubbo Regional Council (DRC) is excited to welcome the South Sydney Rabbitohs and Canberra Raiders and their fans to Apex Oval this weekend, for the NRL Premiership Round 11 clash!  Mayor of Dubbo Regional Council Mathew Dickerson said he is looking forward to game day!

“As game day approaches staff are extremely busy behind the scenes preparing the fields, setting up the event, working with the football clubs, promoting last minute ticket sales and much more! There is a certain energy that can be felt right across the region ahead of the game and I’m really looking forward to experiencing that energy this Sunday when the gates open at 11am!,” said Mayor Dickerson.

DRC’s Manager of Regional Events, Kim Hague said it is important ticket holders are up-to-date with the current information. “DRC’s website and facebook pages have all the need to know info about game day. We ask everyone to have their tickets ready at the gate, remind everyone there are some conditions of entry, but importantly to bring the family and have fun!

“All bags will be checked as a condition of entry, as no alcohol, soft drinks, glass or cans are permitted in the grounds. Additionally, no umbrellas and no pets other than assistance animals who have undertaken a Public Access Test (PAT) are allowed into the venue,” said Ms Hague.

ROAD CLOSURES: 

·         Chelmsford Street closed at Cobra Street and Wingewarra Street from 7am – 7pm Sunday.  Chelmsford Street is accessible via Bultje Street for game day drop-off purposes and to local traffic.

·         Apex Oval via Kokoda Place is closed at Wingewarra Street from 7am – 7pm Sunday.

·         Apex Oval via Cobra Street is closed 7am – 7pm Sunday.

·         Apex Oval via Cassia Street closed 7am – 7pm Sunday.

BUS ROUTES: A free hail and ride bus service will be available in Wellington starting at Nanima Village to the game, along with West and North Dubbo starting at Delroy Shopping Centre car park and East and South Dubbo commencing at the corner of Cobra and Macquarie Street. The Bus will be returning via the reverse route. For a full list of the streets the buses will travel, visit DRC’s website.

DROP OFF ZONES AND PARKING: The drop-off for General Admission ticket holders will be North Chelmsford Street. For Accessible ticket holders, it will South Chelmsford Street. Access to Chelmsford Street is via Bultje Street. FREE parking is available at the Dubbo Showground entry via Wingewarra Street. Pedestrian access from Showground to Apex Oval via Kokoda Place.

There are full bar facilities and plenty of food options on-site, with cash and EFTPOS payments accepted. There will be no ATM facilities available at Apex Oval during the game, there will also be no pass outs for the event.
