Bruce Mathiske

Saturday 28 May, 7.30 pm at Wellington Civic Centre

Bruce Mathiske Guitar Artistry LIVE in Wellington! Featuring Bruce Mathiske’s virtuoso guitar and didgeridoo with special guest Adam Manning on percussion as well as live art projected on the big screen.

Incorporating influences from the likes of JS Bach, The Rolling Stones, original works and world music, the notes explode from both hands leaving you to wonder if there is another Mathiske in the wings!

This show is a musical feast combining fiery fretwork, tender melodies and exciting rhythms from the only virtuoso guitar/didgeridoo player in the world, whose acclaimed and distinctive style has captivated audiences and led to standing ovations world-wide.

This concert experience is as rich and diverse as Australia itself, Mathiske’s music also embraces multicultural flavours and indigenous influences, which are woven together with rhythmic authenticity and a sound that is uniquely his and uniquely Australian. Blending beautifully with the colours and tones of percussionist Adam Manning who will join Mathiske and draw on the inspiration of his indigenous heritage by creating a painting live on stage which will evolve over the evening and will be given away at the end of the concert.

“The Wellington Civic Centre will have a stylish cabaret setting where patrons are encouraged to bring a picnic platter.  The bar will be open throughout the night to purchase drinks. There is a bus load of patrons coming from Dubbo to enjoy an evening of technical guitar brilliance and mastery.  Bruce performed at Dubbo’s 25th Weekend of Jazz in 2015 and has developed a strong local following”, said Manager of Dubbo Regional Theatre and Convention Centre, Linda Christof.

Tickets for the May concert and bus travel can be booked through the DRTCC box office, visiting the website, or by calling (02) 6801 4378.
