Beat The Heat

Temperatures are expected to soar into the mid 40's over the next few days. Here are some tips to help you and others beat the heat and stay safe:

  • Stay hydrated, even if you're not thirsty it's important to keep your fluids up

  • Keep the sun out by shading windows with curtains, blinds or closing shutters

  • Keep windows closed during the day until it cools down and in the early morning

  • If you don’t have an air-conditioner, try to spend time in an air-conditioned place.

  • When outdoors, stay protected from the sun by wearing a hat and sunscreen.

  • It's an offence for children, the elderly and pets to be left unattended in cars - it can be deadly.

  • Make sure the pets have plenty to drink 

  • In an emergency call 000

  • Check the RFS for fire danger ratings
