CHANGED TRAFFIC CONDITIONS, WELLINGTON.
Dubbo Regional Council would like to advise the community of changed traffic conditions at the intersection of Swift Street and Arthur Street Wellington (see below map), from Monday 11 May 2020.
Council will have traffic management in place to facilitate access to these streets for busses, taxis, private and large vehicles, however, parking arrangements may be altered during construction.
Further consultation with the affected residents and businesses will be undertaken prior to work commencing.
The changed traffic conditions will be in place to allow the upgrade of the water main and stormwater as Stage 1 of the project, expected to be complete by late June 2020.
Additional traffic changes will be implemented for further stages of the project which will include construction of new kerb and gutter, pavement and footpath reconstruction along with installation of new concrete driveways in Swift Street and Arthur Street, Wellington.
To facilitate these works four (4) trees will be removed which include;
- (3) Brachychiton populneus Kurrajong
- (1) Acer saccharum Sugar Maple
The trees will be replaced within the road centre. The replacement trees are (2) Acer Freemanii Autumn Blaze Freeman Maple, which are a large fast-growing deciduous tree, providing ample shade during summer months due to its natural form whilst additionally providing an intense autumn foliage colour display to enhance the hard streetscape environment.
Every effort will be made to ensure driveway accesses are re-established as soon as possible throughout each stage of the project. Onsite consultation will be undertaken when vehicle access to driveways are affected. Pedestrian access to properties will be maintained throughout the project.
Council acknowledges the inconvenience these works may cause and thank you for your continued understanding during these infrastructure improvement works.
