Drought Resilient Street Tree Planting
Council wishes to advise that the Drought Resilient Street Tree Planting Project on Talbragar Street, Wingewarra Street and Bultje Street, from Macquarie Street to
Bligh Street, has been programmed to commence on Sunday 7 March 2021, weather permitting. This work is expected to take four (4) weeks to complete.
This project will see the installation of seventeen (17) new street trees planted along the aforementioned sections of Talbragar Street, Wingewarra Street and Bultje Street.
Council wishes to advise local businesses that the majority of this work will be undertaken as night work, with road closures in place from 6 pm to 6 am. In an effort to minimise disruption to residents and businesses, each road will be closed one at a time from Macquarie Street to Bligh Street. Also, please note that Council will lift the road closures each day allowing traffic as usual between the hours of 6 am to 6 pm.
Council endeavours to maintain access to businesses during this work with Council Crews available onsite to help minimise the disruption, though Council advises there will be some disruption during the construction period.
Council acknowledges the inconvenience these works may cause, especially to local businesses. We thank you for your continued understanding during these infrastructure improvement works.
If you have any further concerns, please contact Council’s Project Engineer, Matthew Grebenc, on 0438 781 089.
