Sealing of Whitley Street, Geurie

Council wishes to advise that the Village Sealing Project in Geurie has been programmed to commence from 22 October 2020. The 2020/2021 Village Sealing Program includes the sections of Whitely Street and Wellington Street. Please see the attached map for the locations of works to be undertaken.

These works are anticipated to take approximately four (4) weeks to complete, weather permitting. Council also wishes to notify residents that there may be some preconstruction works commencing in the week prior in preparation for the aforementioned start date.

This project will include road reconstruction, drainage improvements, construction of driveways and bitumen sealing. The proposed drainage works will involve the construction of table drains and channels along the roadway, connecting to existing drainage infrastructure, and the upgrade of a culvert system across Wellington Street.

Due to these works, Whitely Street, along with Wellington Street and Cass Street will be under traffic control throughout the four (4) week period. Some of the proposed works may lead to Wellington Street being closed for a short period. The works may occur in front of residences, and as such, access to residential driveways may be periodically disrupted. Council shall liaise with residents to minimise the impacts of these improvement works, through residents are advised to prepare for limited access throughout the construction period.

Council acknowledges the inconvenience these works may cause, especially to local residents. We thank you for your continued understanding through these infrastructure improvement works.
