Work to commence on Church Street Amenity Facility
Dubbo Regional Council would like to advise residents that work on an accessible amenity facility to be located on the eastern side of the Church Street Rotunda in the Dubbo central business district has begun this week.
The new amenity is aligned with Dubbo Regional Council’s 2017 – 2020 Disability Inclusion Action Plan, with a core belief that each person should have the right to full and effective participation in an inclusive society. The Council Disability Inclusion Technical panel unanimously endorsed the installation of the facility with the location and design of the toilet facility a resolution of Council’s Infrastructure, Community and Recreation Committee meeting held on 13 May 2019.
In 2016 the community highlighted access to public amenity in a central location in the CBD as a priority in the 2016 CBD Precincts Plan.
Multiple on site community consultation activations have taken place in the lead up to this installation.
The facility will be designed with consideration to the existing surrounds and vertical plantings will be installed to ensure the unit is pleasing to the eye.
The amenity project is scheduled to be complete by August 2019
