Works to commence on attenuation mound in Wellington, changed traffic conditions will occur
Please be advised that Dubbo Regional Council Operations staff will be conducting works to clean-up and replace vegetation on the sound attenuation mound at the northern entrance to Wellington, adjacent to the Mitchell Highway.
The works are scheduled to commence Monday 22 July. The work will take place from 7:00am until 4:00pm, daily.
It is anticipated that traffic travelling north on the Mitchell Highway will be significantly impacted for approximately ten (10) days as the north bound lane will be closed and traffic will be directed via the southbound lane.
Traffic control will be in place and traffic travelling in both directions will be controlled at a reduced speed limit of 40 kilometres per hour.
The work will involve the removal of unsafe, as well as unsightly, dead and dilapidated shrubs, rejuvenating the soil, replanting and mulching the attenuation mound. The mulch will be generated from the vegetation removed.
The works will span for approximately 750 metres along the Mitchell Highway.
Works are expected to be completed by September 2019.
