Waste Vouchers

Every eligible household now receives two My DRC Waste Vouchers each financial year, and how you use them is up to you. Each voucher can be used for either a Tipping Voucher or a Bulky Rubbish Collection, so you can choose one of each, two Tipping Vouchers, or two Bulky Rubbish Collections, depending on what suits your household.
By default, both My DRC Waste Vouchers will appear as Tipping Vouchers when you log into the My DRC Waste portal. If you'd prefer a Bulky Rubbish Collection instead, you can convert one or both of your My DRC Waste Vouchers.
This program is available to residents who receive a two or three bin kerbside collection. My DRC Waste Vouchers can be downloaded or booked online, by phone, or in person at one of Council's Customer Experience Centres. If you haven't already, create a free account and log in to the My DRC Waste portal to view your two vouchers and make any changes.
Once you've made your choice, you can put your voucher into action. A Tipping Voucher lets you visit one of Council's waste facilities to dispose of up to one cubic metre of waste, to a total value of $50, in the one visit. A Bulky Rubbish Collection lets you place up to one box-trailer load, equivalent to one cubic metre of eligible items on the kerbside for collection, put out on the Sunday before your scheduled collection week.
Terms and conditions of use, accepted and prohibited items, and frequently asked questions for each option are listed below.
How to register and claim vouchers
Create an account if you haven't already, then log into My DRC Waste portal. From here you will access both My DRC Waste Vouchers which will appear as Tipping Vouchers when you log in. If you'd prefer one or both to be a Bulky Rubbish Collection instead, you can convert them.

- Landlords and/or their authorised agents are not eligible to book the Bulky Rubbish Collection. The service must be booked by tenants, as they have access to the required MY DRC Waste portal. Any applications received from property owners will be declined.
- Residents of surrounding towns and villages (including Ballimore, Toongi, Eumungerie, Mogriguy, Elong Elong, Euchareena, Mumbil, and Stuart Town) will need to request a service through the portal. - If you cancel a service at least 14 business days before your scheduled collection, Council will reinstate your waste voucher.
- Failure to notify Council via phone at least 14 business days before the scheduled collection will result in the voucher not being reinstated.
- If a resident fails to present their materials for collection on the scheduled day, Council will not replace the waste voucher or reschedule the collection.
Frequently asked questions
When I enter the My DRC Waste Portal I have two Tipping Vouchers.
All eligible residents will be issued with two Tipping Vouchers. To change each voucher to a Bulky Rubbish Collection, you will need to click on the button to convert them to a Bulky Rubbish voucher. You will then be given the opportunity to select your collection based on the times that are available for your area. You can change both Tipping Vouchers to Bulky Rubbish Collections, though you will need to select your collection date for each voucher individually.
I don't want to book a service I just want to convert my vouchers to Bulky Rubbish Collections to use later.
You can only convert your voucher to a Bulky Rubbish Collection if you are ready to book your collection. You cannot convert without then going onto a booking.
What if I am a rural resident who does not receive a two or three bin kerbside service?
Residents who do not have a weekly collection service and pay the Rural Waste Management Charge for the property will be able to dispose of waste equivalent to 52 quantities of a 240 litre wheelie bin across the financial year. To download your rural tipping vouchers, create an account and verify your property at My DRC Waste. The system will show your remaining unclaimed voucher total. Your annual entitlement will automatically be credited to the same voucher each financial year for 10 years, so you do not need to download a new voucher each year.
What happens if the My DRC Waste Vouchers have already been used for my property?
You may still be eligible for other Council programs or facility charges, find out more at Residential Rubbish Overview.
How much will it cost to visit the waste facility if I have already used both of my vouchers?
View Council's Fees and Charges document at Integrated Planning and Reporting, which shows all costs that can be charged at our waste facilities.
My residence is new, or new to me, do I get My DRC Waste vouchers?
If you have recently moved into a property, purchased a new home, or are renting a new property, the My DRC Waste Vouchers allocated to the property may have already been claimed. You can check the My DRC Waste system to see if a collection allocation remains available.
If you are a tenant please ensure you use your legal name when applying for a My DRC Waste account. This will help minimise potential issues during the approval process with your real estate agent or private landlord.
What if I own a number of properties in the LGA?
MyDRC Waste Vouchers are only available for your primary place of residence. If you own multiple properties, you can only claim vouchers for the property you live in.
I rent the property. Do I get access to the vouchers?
Yes. As the current tenant living in the property you are entitled to the vouchers for the financial year. If the property has changed tenancy within the financial year, the Waste Vouchers may have already been used by the previous resident renting the property.
A property is only allocated two vouchers per year.
If you have vouchers available, you, as the tenant, must create your own My DRC Waste account using your legal name. When creating the account select that you are the tenant and select your agency from the list. If you rent privately, select ‘my agent isn’t listed here’. A notification will then be sent to your agent or landlord for them to verify you live at the property. Once this is complete you will be able to log back in and access the vouchers for your property.
If you are unable to complete the online verification process, visit one of our Customer Experience Centres with proof that you live at the property (for example, a tenancy agreement or recent utility bill). Our team will verify your residency and help you access any available vouchers.
What if I live in a retirement village?
Please contact Council on 6801 4000 to organise a booking.
What if I live in a Gated Estate?
If you own your home, please follow the homeowner instruction and place your Bulky Rubbish Collection on the kerb where you place your bin.
If you are renting, please select tenant when signing up and choose your Strata Body for confirmation of your tenancy.
Do my unused My DRC Waste Vouchers roll over to the next financial year?
No. Vouchers must be used within the financial year they are issued. Any unused vouchers will expire on 30 June and will not roll over. A fresh set of vouchers will be allocated to eligible properties on 1 July.
Can I transfer my vouchers to a friend or different property?
No. Vouchers are strictly non-transferable between households. Vouchers are also not redeemable for cash and cannot be exchanged for any other Council service.
I’ve chosen a Bulky Rubbish Collection. Where do I put my bulky rubbish to be collected?
Refer to the terms and conditions section above for bulky rubbish presentation.
Please note, multiple trucks are used to collect your waste and may arrive at different times across your scheduled collection week. The date of your booking indicates the start of your collection week.
What should I do if part of my Bulky Rubbish collection was left behind.
Don't worry. We use multiple different trucks to collect different types of waste (for example, scrap metal vs. general bulky items), meaning they will likely arrive at different times throughout your scheduled collection week. If the entire week has passed and items remain, check if a notification card was left by the driver, or contact our team on 02 6801 4000.
I’m having trouble creating an account or getting access to my vouchers.
If you require assistance please contact us on 02 6801 4000, or visit our Dubbo or Wellington Customer Experience Centres. You can also get in touch with our team using the live chat feature in the bottom-right on your screen, it will be green when our team is available but if it is grey you can still leave a message and we will get back in touch with you.
If you are renting, please ensure you use your legal name when applying for a My DRC Waste account. This will minimise risk of issue throughout the approval process by your real estate agent or property manager.
Can I cancel my pre-booked service?
Yes. You can cancel your booked collection through the MyDRC Waste Portal up to 14 days before the start of your scheduled collection week. Your voucher will be returned to your account and can be used again within the same financial year.
If you were unable to make your booking through the portal, or you require assistance cancelling your booking, please contact our Customer Experience Team on 02 6801 4000.
Bookings cannot be cancelled through the portal within 14 days of the start of your scheduled collection week. If you need to cancel during this period, please contact our Customer Experience Team. Your booking can still be cancelled; however, your voucher will be forfeited and cannot be reinstated.
If you do not present your bulky rubbish for collection as booked, your voucher will also be forfeited and cannot be reinstated.
Can I exchange two MyDRC Waste Vouchers for a single bulky rubbish collection with double the allowance?
No. Each bulky rubbish collection voucher provides an entitlement of up to 1 cubic metre of bulky waste (approximately one small box trailer load) per collection.
Two vouchers cannot be combined to increase the collection size or item allowance for a single booking. If you have more than the allocated amount of bulky waste, you must:
- Book your first bulky rubbish collection and present no more than the permitted amount.
- Wait until that collection has been completed.
- Exchange your second voucher and book another collection at the next available date.
If you place more than the permitted amount of waste out for a single collection, the excess waste will not be collected simply because you have a second unused voucher.
