DUBBO REGION SAYS G’DAY AND YAMMA (WELCOME) TO NEW RESIDENTS

Dubbo Regional Council will be hosting its second New Resident Night for 2023 on Wednesday 15 November from 5.30pm to 7.30pm at the Dubbo Visitor Information Centre, Cnr Newell Highway and Macquarie Street.

The New Resident Night allows residents new to the region to be officially welcomed while also giving them the opportunity to meet with representatives of Dubbo's community organisations including service clubs, volunteer groups and sporting clubs.

Attendees will also have the chance to meet with other new residents in a social atmosphere.

Council’s Economic Development and Visitor Services Team Leader Tim Nichols said the evenings are always well attended and provide a great starting point for new residents to explore what the region has to offer.

“Our community members are always eager to welcome new residents and make their arrival as smooth and pleasant as possible.

“I’d encourage all new residents to attend the New Resident Night and learn about all the opportunities that await you in our fabulous part of the world,” Mr Nichols said.

The event provides the opportunity for people who have moved to the area in the past 12 months the opportunity to link directly with like-minded people who may share similar experiences.

“The hope is they swap numbers or take up a new interest so they feel more connected to their new home,” Mr Nichols said.

Light refreshments and a community BBQ hosted by Macquarie Rotary will be available.

The evening is free, however registration is required for catering purposes.

Those interested in attending are advised to head to https://dubbo.com.au/live/new-resident-night to register attendance.

Dubbo Regional Council also provides a New Resident Guide that can be viewed at https://dubbo.com.au/live.

The Dubbo Region New Resident Guide is packed with essential information to help residents settle into their new region and connect with the local community.
