NOMINATIONS NOW OPEN FOR SPORTS AWARDS

Nominations are now open for the 2023 Dubbo Region Sports Awards which recognise the outstanding achievements of sportspeople from Dubbo and Wellington.

The Dubbo Region Sports Awards are a joint initiative of the Dubbo Regional Sports Council, Dubbo Regional Council, Federal Member for Parkes Mark Coulton and the Federal Member for Calare Andrew Gee.

This year marks the awards' 21st year of recognising Dubbo and Wellington’s most talented sportspeople.

Nominations are open for the three different categories for the awards:

  • Individual or Team Achievement: such as national or state representation of your association as a player, coach, referee, umpire, or official. This may include NSW Country/State/National Competition success or a high-level single performance, such as an Australian or State record.
  • Individual Contribution to Sport: by an individual, including coaches, referees, umpires, and administrators, with a minimum of five years of service.
  • Community Contribution to Sport: by an organisation, media organisation, or sponsor to a particular sporting event, facility, or continuous support over a minimum of five years.

“This is a really great opportunity to recognise both individuals and teams in our community who have excelled in their sporting field,” Dubbo Regional Council Mayor, Mathew Dickerson said.

“Members of the sporting community are encouraged to nominate individuals and teams from their association or club that meet the criteria for the awards.”

The presentation of the Dubbo Region Sports Awards will be held on Friday, 10 November, from 6 pm at the Dubbo RSL Club and Resort.

Nomination forms are available at www.dubbo.nsw.gov.au or by contacting Dubbo Regional Council’s Recreation Coordinator, Tracey Whillock, on 6801 4000.

Nominations close on Friday, 22 September 2023.
