With fast water flows in the Bell River and rising river levels in the Macquarie, Dubbo Regional Council (DRC) are working closely with SES, NSW Police and Transport for NSW and will be closing a number of roads as a precautionary measure.

Dubbo Regional Council wishes to advise that the Victoria Park No. 1 Oval will be unavailable for car parking on Thursday, 17 November 2022 due to an event. Car parking will be available between Victoria Park 2 and 3 Oval off Gipps Street.

The public exhibition period of Dubbo Regional Council’s draft Precinct Plan for the North-West Urban Release Area has been extended until 5pm on Friday, 16 December 2022.

This preparation is only precautionary at this stage.

Residents are reminded to plan extra time for travel this morning (Monday 10 October 2022) with some roads and bridges across the region remaining closed. Macquarie River levels at the Serisier Bridge have fallen over night to 7.46m at 6am this morning but this is not low enough for crews to commence cleaning up.

Dubbo Regional Council (DRC) are asking community to plan for extra time for travel tomorrow (Monday 10 October 2022). With some roads and bridges across the region remaining closed and the return of school, if possible residents should consider working from home or altering their start time to ease congestion during the busy morning period.

Dubbo Regional Council (DRC) has been working closely with SES, NSW Police and TfNSW preparing measures in the event the Emile Seriser Bridge will have to be closed. This closure will only take place when the depth of the water overtopping the deck of the bridge becomes too dangerous to drive through.

The Macquarie River peaked in Dubbo at 7.3m at approximately 1am Saturday 17 September 2022. At approximately 12:30am, Dubbo Regional Council (DRC) working closely with SES, Transport for NSW and local Police, reduced the Emile Serisier Bridge to one lane each way. Staff maintained a consistent flow of traffic without redirection.
